About Us
GOAL Getters (Global Opportunities, Action, and Leadership) is an educational program that teaches young people about global citizenship and social responsibility while guiding them as they take action in their communities. GOAL Getters empowers teachers to teach beyond the standards by creatively integrating citizenship skills into daily lessons. GG provides free, valuable resources for educators to use in their classrooms. Many resources align with the Common Core State Standards. Learn more here! .
To become strong leaders of the future, children must be educated about global citizenship and social responsibility at a young age. Through GG, students explore other cultures while working toward one or more service goals to make a difference in their community and world. Throughout the process, students gain a global perspective and learn how to be leaders in their school and community.
GG was founded in March, 2013 by Becca Wertheim as a Commitment to Action for Clinton Global Initiative University, in partnership with She's the First.
Mission
The mission of GOAL Getters is to teach elementary school students about global citizenship and social responsibility while empowering them to take action through the core belief that you are never too young to make a positive difference in the world!
We believe that kids have the passion, energy, creativity, and determination needed to solve the largest world issues. With the right education, guidance, and resources, kids are capable of making their mark in the world, even at an early age. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Everyone can be great, because anyone can serve"...including kids!
